Sierra Club hosting ‘repair fair’ at Fairfield Farmers Market
Jul. 26, 2021 3:50 pm
The Southeast Iowa Sierra Club will host a “repair fair” at the Fairfield Farmers Market Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Howard Park.
Fix-it experts from Habitat ReStore, the Maharishi International University Maker Space, A-Z Appliances and more will be on site at the Sierra Club’s booth in the vine-covered pergola with all of their tools. Residents can bring small appliances, broken household items, and jewelry for minor repairs on the spot at no cost, or for free advice on next steps for larger issues.
The event is part of Sierra Club’s Zero Waste month events to promote responsible consumption and reduce the volume of items going to the landfill.
Residents are encouraged to bring small appliances and other household items that need fixing to the Fairfield Farmers Market Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Howard Park. (Photo submitted)
