Sierra Gillis graduates with honors from Northwest Missouri State

Sierra Gillis, daughter of Anna Gillis, graduated Cum Laude from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO. with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Elementary Education on Friday, April 26, 2024.
She will be teaching Four Year Old Preschool at Mid-Prairie starting in the 2024-2025 school year.
Congratulations, Sierra! We are all proud of you!!
CRAWFORDSVILLE LIONS CLUB
The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday evening, April 22, 2024 at 6 p.m. at the Crawfordsville Community Room. Ten members were present.
What was scheduled as a work nite in the community was altered due to inclement weather.
President Wilson called the meeting to order leading the Pledge of Allegiance and Lion Nancy gave the invocation.
Secretary Rose read the minutes of the April 8, 2024 meeting which were approved as read and Treasurer Finke gave his report.
Old Business: The Scholarship recipients list has been picked up. A thank-you note was read from the National Child Safety Council for the Club's donation.
New Business: Lion Nancy reported on the District Convention and also announced that the State Lions offices that were moved from Ames to Marshalltown earlier have since been offered space at Camp Courageous at Monticello. It was also mentioned that Camp Courageous is having their annual Omelet Breakfast on Sunday, October 28 and Lion Scott plans to attend. The Iowa Lions are in need of host families for two and a half weeks for youth from all over Europe. It was mentioned the State Lions Convention is May 31-June 1 at Cedar Falls, as well.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned by President Wilson.
Trivia on Presidents was enjoyed by Tail Twister Finke followed by refreshments provided by Lion Davis.
CHAPTER L T.T.T.
Chapter L of the National T.T.T. Society met on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 7 p.m. at the Olds United Church of Christ. The meeting opened with the singing of the Sword of Gold.
Roll Call: Seven members answered with " What three things would you bring with you on a deserted island?"
Minutes: Nancy McGohan read the March 2024 minutes which were approved as read.
Correspondence:
Marlys Fear read a card from Rose Lauer thanking the chapter for the memorial donation in memory of her Mother.
President Shelman read the invitation from the Mt. Pleasant Chapters about their Founder's Day Celebration coming up on June 4.
Missy Fear shared a conversation with Joan Rodgers, who had hoped to attend this meeting, but was unable to.
The Treasurer's Report was given by Missy Fear and will be filed for audit.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Camp Girls' Gifts: Nothing to report.
Ways and Means: Karolyn Crawford reported on tip night at the Mt. Pleasant Pizza Ranch and reminded everyone the group will be at the Washington Pizza Ranch on April 29 from 5-8 p.m.
OLD BUSINESS: President Shelman reported the convention had taken place and there were pictures posted on Facebook. She has signed the Chapter up to help with hospitality during the 2025 Convention, which will take place in Burlington.
NEW BUSINESS: A Memorial Service for Louise Unkrich took place.
BILLS FOR PAYMENT AND PROPOSAL OF NAMES FOR MEMBERSHIP: None.
ADJOURNMENT: President Shelman thanked those who attended. The next meeting will be Tuesday, May 28 at 7 p.m. at the Olds United Church of Christ. Missy Fear will be the hostess.
The meeting adjourned with the Closing Creed.
Following the meeting everyone enjoyed a "still warm from the oven" fresh rhubarb dessert provided by Marlys Fear.
