SONYA KERKOVE

Sonya Lea Kerkove, age 53 of Plano, Texas, died January 26, 2019. She was born April 3, 1965 in Fort Madison, to Jerry and Mary Bell Cramblit Kerkove. She graduated from New London High School; received her Associate of Science Degree from Collin Community College and Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Texas. She adored her grandchildren; loved her family and friends. She was employed by Baylor Medical Center for 27 years in various departments: Liver & Kidney Transplant, GI Recovery, Wound Care, ER Trauma, diabetic education and Case Management; worked part time as Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner for Collin County; served the community as a Horse Rider Assistant for Equest; Animal Ambassador II for SPCA of Texas; Den Leader for Cub Scouts; Girl Scout leader; and a member of Grace Presbyterian Church.

Sonya was preceded by her mother. Survivors include her father, daughter Megan, 3 Grandchildren; four brothers, Clayton, Plano,Tx; Anthony, New London; Michael, Wellman; and Kenyon, Heartland, Texas.

The service will be 12:00 Saturday at Elliott Chapel; burial following at Bonaparte Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 AM with family present from 11:00 until 12:00. Online condolences may be left at www.elliottfuneralchapel.com.
