Southeast Iowa Agricultural Research Association annual meeting March 6

The Southeast Iowa Agricultural Research Association annual meeting for farmers and agriculture suppliers begins at 10 a.m. March 6 at the Johnson County Extension office in Iowa City.

Farmers and agriculture suppliers will want to attend according to association president David Scott.

Following a business meeting, the day will feature an update on activities at the Iowa State University Southeast Research and Demonstration Farm by superintendent Myron Rees and presentations on ?Changing Farm Profitability in 2014? by Ryan Drollette, ISU Extension farm management specialist; ?Insect Resistance Management Strategies? by Erin Hodgson, ISU Extension entomologist; ?Weed Resistance Management Strategies? by Bob Hartzler, ISU Extension weeds specialist; and ?Reducing Nutrient Losses from Your Farm? by Matt Helmers, ISU Extension agricultural engineer.

The free meeting, including lunch, will conclude at 2:30 p.m.

Continuing Education Units will be available for certified crop advisors for a $20 fee.
