Space available in History Readers’ Circle

The Fairfield Public Library has space for three more registrants for this month's History Readers' Circle set for 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19.

Space is limited to 12 participants per month. Register by calling the front desk at 641-472-6551, Ext. 2.

There is no charge for this program.

Fairfield resident John Beghtol will facilitate the group discussions. Beghtol taught history at Centerville High School for 10 years, received the Iowa Teacher of the Year Award in 1971, and ranked fifth as a contender for National Teacher of the Year. His passion for history and love of reading inspired this program.

Preregistered participants will gather to discuss whatever history books they are reading, and light refreshments will be served. Conversation inevitably covers the books brought, plus other topics, so everyone walks away with inspiration for further reading. Books about local, national, and international history are welcome.
