Pekin girls win Anderson Relays
The Pekin girls? track team won the Dennis Anderson Relays Monday in Bloomfield.

Pekin girls win Anderson Relays
The Pekin girls? track team won the Dennis Anderson Relays Monday in Bloomfield.
The Class A team scored 196 points overall and finished above second place Wayne by a wide margin.
Gwynne Wright won the 800-meter run by 23 seconds, while her teammate Taylor Lock finished second. Samantha Wright, Shae Dahlstrom, Mallory Reed, Taylor Reynolds and Kaylee Linder each won individual events for the Panthers. Linder won the 100-meter dash (13.28) and the 200-meter dash (27.92). Dahlstrom took home the 3000-meter run (12:05.54) and the 1500-meter run (5:44.05) titles.
Shelbie Williams won the shot put competition, with her throw landing at 37?4?.
Panther relay teams finished first in the distrance medley, 4x400-meter relay, 4x100 relay, sprint medley relay and the 4x800-meter relay.
The Cardinal girls ran at this meet as well and finished with 35 team points. The Comets finished first in the shuttle hurdle relay with the time of 1:14.11. Lexi Fullenkamp, Sarah Schmidt, Ryley Liles and Alexis Adam ran on the team. Adam also finished second in the 100-meter hurdles.
Van Buren track team competes in Central Lee
The Van Buren girls? track team finished with 57 team points and a fifth place finish in Central Lee Tuesday.
The shuttle hurdle relay team comprised of Allison Dickinson, Kimmy Heisel, Tiffany Beggs and Nicole Coffin got second place. The distance medley team comprised of Bonnie Saunders, Kadie Meek, Rachel Warrick and Unity Daugherty also received second place. The 4x100-meter relay team, comprised of Meek, Saunders, Kaitlyn Johnson and Kimmy Heisel finished in third place.
