Statler Construction of Washington has received an award for a home it built in Kalona.
Statler Construction was one of four building contractors to win a 2020 Iowa City Area Home Builders Association Parade of Homes Builders Excellence Awards. The awards are sponsored by Sobaski Abbey Carpet & Floor.
Statler won in the $351,000-$450,000 category for the home it built in Kalona at 929 Fifth Street.
Seventeen new homes were entered for judging in this year's new-construction Parade of Homes. Members from other HBAs around Iowa judged the homes. Criteria included exterior, interior, livability and functionality.
The 53rd Parade of Homes started Aug. 1 and continues Thursday, Aug. 6 from 5:30–8:30 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 9 between Noon and 5 p.m. Tickets for the parade can be purchased at any of the participating homes.
