Steeles see granddaughter Emma Wilkerson graduate

Doug and Carol Steele attended the Awards and Scholarship Day at Center Point-Urbana High School on May 19, 2024 to see their granddaughter, Emma Wilkerson, daughter of Doug and Carrie Wilkerson of Center Point receive two scholarships. Emma plans to major in Engineering.
A week later on May 26, Center Point-Urbana High School held its graduation exercises. Emma Wilkerson was one of 130 graduates. Attending were Doug and Carol Steele and Kylee Steele of Crawfordsville; Carmen Steele of Omaha, NE.; Dick and Linda Wilkerson of Mt. Pleasant; Kayden Meyer and Doug and Carrie Wilkerson of Center Point. Emma received the highest honor Gold Cord and Silver Cord.
CRAWFORDSVILLE LIONS CLUB
The Crawfordsville Lions met Monday evening, May 20 with eight members present. Due to conflicts, the group met in the Fellowship Hall at the United Church of Crawfordsville.
President Mindy Wilson opened the meeting leading the Pledge of Allegiance and Lion Fletcher led in prayer.
The Secretary's report of the May 13, 2024 meeting was approved as read by Lion Rose and Treasurer Finke gave his report.
Old Business: It was reported the Washington County Pork Producers will be donating the pork burgers for Fun Days on Saturday, July 6. The Lions will be serving lunch at the City Hall/ Fire Station on Main Street from 11-1 that day for a free-will offering.
It was brought to everyone's attention that the Lions will be hosting a Blood Drive in the Fellowship Hall at the United Church of Crawfordsville on Monday, June 3, 2024 from 1:30-6:30 p.m.
Lion Shirley Massey has contacted Abe Miller of Brighton to speak at the next meeting on Monday, June 10, 2024 to share stories of his life experiences and also tell about his music.
Following the meeting the group will determine what is needed for a service project.
There being no further business, the president adjourned the meeting.
Tail Twister Finke entertained with trivia relating to the Kentucky Derby.
Refreshments were served by Lion Fletcher.
CRAWFORDSVILLE COMMUNITY CLUB and BALL GAMES
The Crawfordsville Community Club is excited to announce that ball games are back in Crawfordsville. All games will be held at the City Ballfield east of the Crawfordsville Elementary School. The Community Club will be running a concession stand during all the games.
The Field has been completely reworked thanks to many, many volunteers, both individual and businesses, The Crawfordsville Community Club would like to thank the City of Crawfordsville that used a Washington County Riverboat Foundation Municipal Grant for the field and the Riverboat Foundation for the fence and lights. Many area businesses and individuals donated their time and labor, as well as a new electronic scoreboard to make this project happen.
Come out and support the teams and the Club at the same time. There is free admission to all games.
COTTER ALUMNI GATHERING
The Alumni of the Cotter High School graduation classes will gather on Saturday, June 8 at the Pizza Ranch in Washington at 11:50 a.m.
Come bring family and friends and share memories of your time together and enjoy the delicious meal.
CRAWFORDSVILLE ALUMNI GATHERING
The Crawfordsville Alumni Gathering will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Church of Crawfordsville.
Anyone who attended Crawfordsville School (Spouses or Friends) is invited.
