Storys celebrating 50th wedding anniversary
Melvin and Donna Story of Birmingham will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house hosted by their children from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center.

Melvin and Donna Story of Birmingham will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house hosted by their children from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center.
Melvin Lee Story and Donna Lee Countryman were married Dec. 8, 1962, at the Methodist church in Kahoka, Mo., with the Rev. Robert L. Hemmerla officiating. The wedding reception was held after the ceremony at the groom?s parents home.
Mr. Story retired in 1997 from Rockwell International in Fairfield after working for 35 years.
Mrs. Story retired after working for many years as a bookkeeper at various local businesses and 12 years as an Avon representative.
Children of the couple are: Debi Steele and husband Don of Fairfield; Kathy Story and husband Randy Arnold of Pella; and Rhonda Robinson and husband Rick of Fairfield. The couple has five grandchildren, three stepgreat-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
