Iowa storyteller Darrin Crow will be presenting free programs, one for children and one for adults, Tuesday, Aug. 6 at the Fairfield Public Library.
A children's program, 'Iowa Storyteller Explores A Universe of Stories,” will be at 1 p.m.
Join Crow on an interactive journey through a universe of stories. Come along to Africa to help Anansi the Spider and the other animals get their stories from Nyame the Ruler of the Sky. Jack will go way beyond the beanstalk when he has to go to the moon to find cheese for his mother.
The stories that will delight all ages; families are welcome.
During the adult program, set for 7:30 p.m., Crow will bring Gothic horror master Edgar Allan Poe to life in 'Morbid Curiosities – An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe.”
The master of Gothic horror comes from beyond the veil to talk with audiences about his life and share his best stories and poetry including 'The Masque of the Red Death,” 'The Raven” and 'The Tell-Tale Heart.”
The performance also features one of Poe's comedies, 'The Angel of the Odd,” a cautionary tall tale about the dangers of too much drinking.
