Mid-Prairie sophomore Ciana Carr received All-State honors and performed her Prose category entry "Encouraging Kelly" at the Individual Events Speech All-State Festival on Monday, March 31, at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. While over 40,000 students throughout the state of Iowa participate in the Iowa High School Speech Association competitions each year, only 2 to 6 percent are nominated to receive All-State honors. This was Ciana's first year participating as a member of the Mid-Prairie Speech team.
