Students planning Spring Fun Run

SIGOURNEY ? Talented and Gifted students of the Pekin and Sigourney community school districts are sponsoring a fund-raising Spring Fun Run the morning of April 6 at Sigourney High School in Sigourney.

All proceeds from the event will go to Reagan Kopsieker to help her family with medical expenses.

The 5K run/walk is for participants ages 11 and older.

The 800-meter run is for participants who are 6-11 years old, and the 400-meter run is for participants 5 years old and younger.

Participants may register early or wait until race day. If participants register on or before Friday, the fee is $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Participants who register by Friday will receive a T-shirt and a goodie bag.

If participants register on race day, the fee is $20 and does not include a T-shirt. Registration will be 8-9 a.m. on race day. The race starts at 9:30 a.m. sharp.

Medals will be given out to participants who finish in first- through 30th-place in each age group.

Restrooms will be available at the race site.

Nonparticipants can purchase event T-shirts at Pekin schools for $10.
