Sunday brunch to raise funds for Lake Darling cabins

BRIGHTON ? The Friends of Lake Darling State Park will hold a brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the park lodge to raise awareness and funds for its newest project: four-season ADA cabins.
The brunch will include music by Robert McConnell; a program on Iowa?s osprey nesting program by Jodeane Cancilla from the McBride Raptor Center at 1 p.m., including appearances of a rehabilitated owl and hawk and playing ?bird bingo?; and catering by Cafe Dodici.
Tickets are $40 in advance or $50 at the door. For reservations, call 319-694-2815 by 5 p.m. today.
The group has a goal of $750,000 for the cabins project. When completed, the cabins will be available year round to rent through Iowa State Parks. The site has been selected and has been cleared for building by the State of Iowa Office of Archaeology.
