Teacher of Year nominations due

The Fairfield Community School District is seeking nominations for the 2013 Teacher of the Year award.

Nominations are due by 4 p.m. April 8 to the Administrative/Curriculum/Technology Center. Nominations also can be emailed to Superintendent Art Sathoff at art.sathoff@fairfieldsfuture.org.

Nominations should include the name of the teacher being nominated, the person?s building and teaching assignment and reasons why the teacher is a good candidate for 2013 Teacher of the Year.

Anyone is eligible to nominate a teacher, and a nominee will need to provide additional information to be considered.

The Fairfield Economic Development Association and the Fairfield Manufacturers Association each have pledged $1,000 to be awarded to the 2013 Teacher of the Year.

The teacher will be honored at an end-of-the-year staff breakfast May 8 at Fairfield Middle School.

Past recipients will not be considered for this year?s award.

The 2012 Teacher of the Year was FMS social studies teacher Jennifer Mangler, who had taught social studies to seventh- and eighth-grade students for 12 years in the district.
