Thanksgiving services and meals

The following are local Thanksgiving church services being held in the local area:

?First United Methodist Church, of Mt. Pleasant, will hold services on Thursday, Nov. 26, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. A free-will offering will be taken.

?Faith Christian Outreach Church, will hold their annual family service on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 7 p.m.

?Mt. Pleasant?s First United Methodist Church will hold services on Wednesday, Nov. 25, at 6 p.m.

?New London United Methodist Church will hold services on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 7 p.m.

?Swedesburg Lutheran Church, at the Parish Hall (located at 201 Academy Avenue), will hold services on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 7 p.m. A Soup Supper will also be held at 5:30 p.m., for a freewill donation.

?United Church of Crawfordsville will hold services on Wednesday, Nov. 25, at 7 p.m. Bring non-perishable food items and paper supplies to donate.

?The Wesley Chapel congregation invites all interested persons to worship at 7 p.m., Thanksgiving Eve. The meeting place is located at 2151 200th Street, about three miles north and three miles east of Mt. Pleasant.

Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church is accessible, with plenty of parking.

The following are community Thanksgiving dinners being hosted in the local area:

?Lisa Oetken, Main Street Mt. Pleasant director and Tina Hill, Administrator of the Mt. Pleasant Christian School, will head up this year?s annual free Community-Wide Thanksgiving Dinner at the First United Methodist Church, located at 309 North Main Street, on Thursday, Nov. 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Deliveries are available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations will be accepted. Call Lisa Oetken at 319-931-0973 or Tina Hill at 319-931-4364 for more information, to volunteer or to order a meal for delivery.

?The Filling Station, 304 E Main Street, New London, will be hosting a dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 26.

?WACO High School, in Wayland (enter near the flag pole), will host a dinner on Thursday, Nov. 26, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Meal may be delivered by calling Tamara at 319-217-2456.

?Winfield Presbyterian Church will host a dinner on Thursday, Nov. 26, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The dinner is being hosted by the Lions Club.
