The Carnegie Historical Museum announces that The Nelson Company will be the first business featured in the new “Carnegie Industrial Series.” Founded in 1972 in Fairfield, Iowa, The Nelson Company Incorporated is an employee-owned company that designs and manufactures industrial components for commercial clients.
The Nelson Company will be highlighted during the Fairfield First Friday Art Walk on Dec. 5, 2025, beginning at 6 p.m. Pete Nelson started what became The Nelson Company out of his garage and will be giving a historical account of the business. A display of The Nelson Company history is available on the third floor of the museum starting in December. The public is welcome to attend and learn about the history of these industries and what they mean to Jefferson County, Iowa.
Please contact Jake Schmidt at the Carnegie Historical Museum at 641-472-6343 to learn more about this next chapter of our industrial history, and visit us at www.carnegiehistoricalmuseum.com
