The Iowa Department on Aging's 2018 Dialogue on Aging Series continues from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Sept. 26 with a free webinar: 'The Power of Iowa's Older Voters.”
This webinar, the third in the series, will focus on the impact older Iowans have at the polls. Adults over age 50 decided the 2016 presidential election and could have a similar effect on the 2018 midterms. However, Iowa's election law has changed and new regulations might be confusing to older voters and their caregivers.
Participants will learn more about why senior participation is so important to American elections; how Iowa's election law varies from the past; what Iowa voters can expect this year when they go to the polls; and how to prepare older Iowans to cast their ballots.
The featured speaker will be Anthony Carroll, associate state director for advocacy, AARP-Iowa.
