'The Sound of Music' cast member has Iowa roots
Lucy Crile, the 8-year-old daughter of former residents Cory and Emily (Wenger) Crile, performed in the Central City Opera production of "The Sound of Music," on stage of the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in the Denver Performing Arts Complex in Denver, Colo., for eight performances in August 2014. Lucy Crile, the 8-year-old daughter of former residents Cory and Emily (Wenger) Crile, performed in the Central City Opera production of "The Sound of Music," on stage of the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in the Denver Performing Arts Complex in Denver, Colo., for eight performances in August 2014. She played the role of the youngest Van Trapp child, Gretl. Lucy is a member of the Colorado Children's Chorale. Emily is an associate conductor and director of educational programs for the Chorale.
Lucy is the granddaughter of Jim and Linda Wenger of Ainsworth, and Pat Crile of Aurora, Colo., formerly of Washington.
