The Well Fairfield plans grand opening
Aug. 24, 2021 12:48 am
The Well Fairfield will hold a grand opening on Oct. 2 with the theme “Come and See.”
The event will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Well’s location at 1700 S. Main St.
The Well Fairfield was launched in August 2020 when The Well purchased the building that had housed Foursquare Church to use as a thrift store and a resource center ministry to people in need. Following extensive renovation, The Well Thrift store opened for business on March 17, 2021. The Well Resource Center began offering services a few months later.
All thrift store sales support the resource center’s ministry of helping local people reach long-term stability in their lives.
Schedule of events for grand opening:
10 a.m.-1 p.m. Thrift store open for shoppers. Guided tours throughout the renovated space as well as activities for children.
11:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m. Enjoy a free meal and ice cream. Members of The Well will be grilling.
Noon to 1 p.m. Outdoor worship on the front lawn.
2-4 p.m. Shopping, tours, and activities for children resume.
Well CEO Jayson Henry commented, “We are excited to partner with the excellent support currently available in Fairfield, and to link people in need with the helping hand that is right for them.”
Henry added, “After seven months of operation in Fairfield, it is time to invite the community to come and see the multi-department thrift store, the donation processing center, and the resource center service options. We’d like to alert Fairfield residents to the opportunities to shop in our thrift store, to donate gently used items, and to volunteer to join us in the store or resource center. We’d also like them to be aware that we are here to offer help when life gets tough.”
The Well has been providing services in Pella since 2012, and in Knoxville since 2019.
Activities for the day include games, face painting, temporary tattoos, and bounce houses. In addition to the meal, popcorn will be available throughout the day. The meal is free, but freewill donations will be accepted. For the worship time, visitors are invited to use the seating provided or to take lawn chairs with them from home. All activities are free and open to the public.
