The Fairfield High School Student Council, basketball team members and coaches, and the FHS administration are encouraging students and spectators to ?dress-up? when they attend the home basketball games.
The goal of the dress-up days is to have some fun and to add even more Trojan spirit to the events, explained Jeff Courtright, the school district?s activities director.
The theme for tonight?s double header against Eddyville is Black Out, and everyone is encouraged to wear black.
The theme for Friday?s girls game against Mount Pleasant is Camo Night, and everyone is invited to wear their camouflage.
Themes set
The themes for other games are:
Wild Hair Night for the boys game against Centerville Jan. 17.
Pink Out for the double header against Washington Jan. 20. White Out for the double header against Keokuk Feb. 3.
Orange Crush for the double header against Pella Feb. 4.
Costume Night for the boys game against Chariton Feb. 7.
Hawaiian Shirt Night for the boys game against Fort Madison Feb. 10.
T-shirt sale ends Thursday
Courtright said the Jan. 20 Pink Out double header game against Washington will be a Coaches vs. Cancer night.
The event will benefit the American Cancer Society. One fundraiser planned is the selling of Coaches vs. Cancer T-shirts.
Courtright said the T-shirts are the reverse of the ones sold last year. This year?s T-shirts are pink with a black and white logo; last year, the shirts were black with a pink and white logo.
A T-shirt costs $11.
?An eflyer has been set-up for individuals to order these shirts,? said Courtright. ?The eflyer will only be open until Thursday, Jan. 12, therefore, if you are interested in supporting this event with the purchase of a T-shirt, then you need to order quickly. Shirts will be delivered to the activities office on Jan. 19.?
The link to the eflyer is http://eflyer.thegraphicedge.com/FAIRCVSC.
Other events planned for the evening of Jan. 20 are a FHS Student Council soup supper; a raffle for electronic devices, including an X-Box 306 Kinect, an iPod Touch and a Kindle Fire; an auction for a FHS handmade quilt; and a duck toss.
