This is the day the Lord has made

Greetings to you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says, ?This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.? It is truly a blessing to know that God is still in control and that we can be glad and rejoice in each day that He gives us.

We have just completed a year that has brought a lot of conflict and trouble into our lives and I know that sometimes we ask where is God in the midst of all of this. As we look back at these things and then look at the new year we are entering into we probably wonder what this year will bring. We see the chaos, the violence, the terror, the unusual patterns of nature and I believe there are a lot of people who are wondering what will come next. We may be asking the question, How do I go on, what shall I do?

I believe in God that He is and that He was and that He always will be. I believe that His Word is the absolute truth and that He is the same as His Word. I believe that He is all knowing, past, present and future, and because of that, He is the One that we need to look to as we face this coming year. He is the One that can give us the wisdom and understanding of how to make it and the way that it is to be done. The Bible says, ?Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding? (Proverbs 3:13). The Bible is not a history book as such, but it contains a lot of history that we might learn by past failures and successes. When men would seek Him and follow Him He would bless those people and be with them in a very special way and when they would forsake Him and His ways, they suffered the consequences. He is no different today. Of course, we must read the Bible to know these things.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, ?Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.? It also says in James 1:5, ?If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.? As we face this year and the things that will be taking place and the need that we will have so that we can make the right decisions and do the right things, let us look to God and His Word and let that be the guiding light for our lives. I think especially in this coming election let His wisdom and His discretion be our guide for the way that we cast our votes. God does not want us to be ignorant and miss His blessings. He is the One that said, John 10:10, ?I come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.? May God?s blessings be yours. Thank you.
