Three area blood drives announced

Southeast Iowa Blood Center has announced three upcoming area blood drives.

Cambridge Investment Research Inc. will sponsor a blood drive from 12:30-5 p.m. July 26 in Cambridge?s Great Hall.

A Jefferson County blood drive will be held from 2-7 p.m. July 26 at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Activities Building.

A Batavia community blood drive is scheduled at 3-7 p.m. July 26 at the Batavia Senior Citizen Community Center in Batavia.

Walk-in donors are welcome for all three drives. Eligible donors last gave blood before May 31.

Donors must be at least 16 years old, in good health and weigh at least 110 pounds. Photo identification or blood donor card is required to donate; 16-year-old donors must present a signed parental consent form, available from blood center offices. Controlled high blood pressure and diabetics are acceptable.

In addition, the Southeast Iowa Blood Center announced its mobile drew 33 units of blood June 24 at the Jefferson County Health Center, 36 units June 27 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, 15 units June 28 at Harper Brush Company and 23 units July 6 at the Keosauqua Senior Center in Keosauqua.
