Through the storm

Because we are all human, we face many different storms in life. Oftentimes when we face storms there is an invisible 'panic” button that is pressed. But I am absolutely convinced nothing comes as a surprise to God. When you have a relationship with Jesus and God the Father, you have assurance, that God not only will protect you in and through the storm, on the other side awaits strength.
James 1:2-4 says,
'Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”
So often this society has conditioned us to complain about difficulty or trials, or 'storms” in life. Storms vary, in size and intensity. Everyone's storm looks different, but could it be that Jesus wants to use that storm in your life to grow your faith in Him? Could it be possible that the difficulty you are experiencing is an effort to get you to rely on Him and not yourself?
There are so many success stories of those who have turned their difficult situation around for the better just based on how they responded. How much more would God turn our situation around if we focused on Him throughout the storm?
In Matthew chapter 14, Peter actually walked on water throughout the storm, but in verse 30 it says, 'But when he (Peter) saw the strong wind and waves, he was terrified and began to sink. ‘Save me, Lord!' he shouted. Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. ‘You have so little faith.' Jesus said, ‘Why did you doubt me?'”
I am convinced, no matter the storm you are going through, by focusing on Jesus you can walk on water through your storm! The neat thing is, even when Peter's faith failed him, and he focused on the storm instead of Jesus and began to sink, Jesus still rescued him.
If you are going through a storm right now, please understand and know that you can get through this by focusing on Jesus and He is waiting to grab and rescue you… cry out to Him. He awaits.
