Tiger softball team tops Pekin on the road

PACKWOOD ? Layney Loyd and Breanna Mettler each went deep and Camryn Blint picked up her first win of the year in the circle as the New London softball team bounced back with a 13-5 win over Pekin.

PACKWOOD ? Layney Loyd and Breanna Mettler each went deep and Camryn Blint picked up her first win of the year in the circle as the New London softball team bounced back with a 13-5 win over Pekin.
The Tigers took an early 7-1 lead with a run in the first inning and three each in the second and third.
New London ran the score up to 9-1 by the sixth inning. Pekin made it interesting with four in the sixth to cut it to 9-5 but New London shut the door with four of their own in the seventh.
The Tigers moved to 3-2 overall this year. They will play Mt. Pleasant tonight (Wednesday) at 7 p.m.
New London is in the middle of a six-day stretch of having games. They?ll host Cardinal on Thursday, June 8, and play in the Fairfield tournament on Friday, June 9, and Saturday, June 10.
