Adam Todd of Troop 242 of Washington has achieved the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout. A ceremony and reception was held Sept. 3, at the United Methodist Church in Washington.
Adam is the son of Mike and Teresa Todd of Washington, the grandson of Bob and Elaine Todd of Washington, and Herman and Jean Theobald of Muscatine.
He has earned 37 merit badges during his 12-year scouting career and has held such leadership positions as Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, Den Chief, and Troop Guide.
Adam?s accomplishment in serving his community was to create a recycling project for the Washington County Fairgrounds. He led a team in building recycling containers that made it easy for the Fairgrounds to pick them up and move around, yet easy for persons to drop their recycling items into the containers. The recycling containers were used during the 2016 Washington County Fair and also during the RAGBRAI event.
He is currently in the 2017 senior class at the Washington High School and is employed at Halcyon House and a summer employee at Lake Darling working for the DNR. He has plans to attend Iowa State University and major in Animal Ecology and Fisheries Science.
