Trail rides offered to seniors

Trail rides for senior citizens and challenged citizens who would otherwise have difficulty exploring Jefferson County Park and its trails are again available from May through October.

The Jefferson County Conserva- tion Board has been providing the opportunity for the rides for about 20 years. This is the eighth year the rides will be given on the quiet and easily accessible electric trail buggy.

Reservations are necessary and can be made by calling 472-4421 or stopping at Jefferson County Park and talking to park host Ron Meyers.

Rides are generally available from sunup to sunset Monday through Friday, except for holiday weekends.

Rides are limited to six passengers.

The cost for a ride is $3 per person, with a minimum of $12 per trip. A ride lasts approximately one hour, although sometimes larger groups from picnic shelters can be be accommodated.
