Train Days set at Dumont Museum
SIGOURNEY ? Dumont Museum will have its annual Train Days Saturday and Sunday, with the gigantic Lionel Train layout in operation from 1-4 p.m. each day.
The 25- by 35-foot layout has a 6-foot mountain, nine trains and dozens of accessories and animated scenes operating at one time.
The train layout, one of the largest detailed layouts in the area, has been designed, built and is engineered by Lyle Dumont.

SIGOURNEY ? Dumont Museum will have its annual Train Days Saturday and Sunday, with the gigantic Lionel Train layout in operation from 1-4 p.m. each day.
The 25- by 35-foot layout has a 6-foot mountain, nine trains and dozens of accessories and animated scenes operating at one time.
The train layout, one of the largest detailed layouts in the area, has been designed, built and is engineered by Lyle Dumont.
Also on display will be a lighted Christmas ceramic village in operation, as well as other animated Christmas items, including a climbing Santa.
The village and train layout are located in the lobby of the museum, and there is no charge for viewing it, but a freewill offering is accepted for the nonprofit organization.
A special reduced price for those wishing to see the rest of the museum with all the items on display as well as the newly constructed 95- by 40-foot train layout in operation. Twelve to 15 trains with hundreds of animated scenes, like the firemen extinguishing the flames from smoking high-rise buildings, a circus, skiers on the high mountains and more.
The museum is 3 miles south of Sigourney on Highway 149 and one-eighth mile west.
