Trampoline, gymnastic classes beginning
Registration is under way for trampoline and gymnastic classes planned by the Fairfield Park and Recreation Department.

Registration is under way for trampoline and gymnastic classes planned by the Fairfield Park and Recreation Department.
The trampoline classes are divided into four sessions. Session 1 begins Monday and meets for six consecutive Mondays. Session 2 begins Aug. 21 and meets for six consecutive Tuesdays. Session 3 begins Aug. 23 and meets for six consecutive Thursdays. Session 4 begins Aug. 24 and meets for six Fridays.
Each session is divided into three classes: 3- to 6-year-old children; 7- to 18-year-old children; and adults. Each class is limited to four people.
The fees are $32 for the youngest participants, $40 for the older participants and $45 for the adults.
The trampoline program is structured to help a gymnast develop balance, body positions, flexibility, self-confidence and strength. The program will teach basic to advanced skills at an individual level.
The gymnastics classes are divided into four sessions. Session 1 meets six consecutive Mondays beginning Monday. Session 2 meets six consecutive Tuesdays beginning Aug. 21. Session 3 meets six consecutive Thursdays beginning Aug. 23, and Session 4 meets six Saturdays beginning Aug. 25.
Sessions 1, 2 and 3 are divided into classes for 3- and 4-year-olds; pre-level 1; level 1; and advanced. Session 4 is divided into classes for 3- to 4-year-olds; 5- to 6-year-olds; 7- to 9-year-olds; and advanced elite.
Qualifications for level positions are at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Each class is limited to 10 participants.
The fees are $32 for the 3- to 4-year-olds; $37 for pre-level 1 and 5- to 6-year-olds; $40 for level 1 and 7- to 9-year-olds; $47 for advanced; and $80 for advanced elite.
The gymnastics program is structured to help develop balance, body positions, flexibility, self-confidence and strength. Skills, including floor tumbling, balance beam and bar movements, will be taught at an individual level.
Jeff Ide, who has more than 30 years of gynmastics experience, will be teaching advanced-elite classes. Angela Clark and Jeanne Ide will teach the other gynmastics classes.
Jeff Ide and an assistant also will be teaching the trampoline classes.
All the classes will meet at the Roosevelt Community Recreation Center.
