Trojans down Davis County, Centerville

The Fairfield wrestling team competed in a meet Thursday at Keokuk involving Davis County and Centerville. Fairfield narrowly defeated Davis County by a score of 30-28. The Trojans defeated Centerville by a score of 39-24.

The Trojans competed at the Bob Murphy Invitational Saturday at West Delaware. The other teams were Assumption, Decorah, Muscatine, Waterloo East and West Delaware. Two Trojan champions crowned at the meet were Bryce Lunsford (12-1) and Michael Fritz (10-1), who earned the team 16 and 18 points, respectively.

The other Trojan wrestlers who competed at the invitational were Dallas Peebler (10-5), who scored five points, Charles Heisel (10-4), who scored four points, Bailey Jones (10-5), who scored five points, and Brendon Lunsford (9-5).

As a team, Fairfield finished with 48 points, putting it in sixth place. The other scores were: Assumption: 156; Decorah: 117; Muscatine: 94; Waterloo East: 91; West Delaware: 77.5.
