Trojans fall in JV softball
EDDYVILLE ? The Fairfield JV softball team gave their all, according to coach Lisa Greenig, in a pair of losses to Eddyville-Blakesburg on Wednesday.

EDDYVILLE ? The Fairfield JV softball team gave their all, according to coach Lisa Greenig, in a pair of losses to Eddyville-Blakesburg on Wednesday.
The Trojans scored three times in the bottom of the final frame to come two runs short, 11-9, in the first game. They then lost the second game 8-4.
?I am proud of the girls for the way they played today,? said Greenig. ?Even though they fell behind early, they never gave up.?
Kelsey Roberts had the hottest bat in the first game tallying two singles, a double and RBI. Emma Kuehl finished with a triple and three RBI, Taylor Ferrel had two RBI and Lindsey Repp knocked in one run.
Mikaela Amendt pitched the complete game to take the loss.
In the second contest, Kuehl came through with Fairfield?s lone RBI. Amendt, Sara Adam, Alyssa Fitch and Jasmine Elmore also finished with one base knock apiece.
Delaney Neil was tagged with the loss on six innings of work.
Next up for the JV softball team is a home contest Tuesday vs. Washington.
