Mt. Pleasant,IA

Trudy V. Wilson, 91, of Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, July 07, 2019 at Sunnybrook Assisted Living in Mt. Pleasant.

The funeral service for Mrs. Wilson will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 12 in the Chapel of the First United Methodist Church, 309 N. Main St., Mt. Pleasant. The Reverend David Bracht-Wagner, Senior Pastor, will officiate. The family will receive friends at a luncheon at the church immediately following the funeral service. Burial will follow the luncheon and will be in the Forest Home Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. The Kimzey Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family for a charity to be decided later. Online condolences may be directed to www.kimzeyfuneralhome.com.

Gertrude Vivian Wilson was born November 9, 1927 in Wheaton, IL. She was the daughter of Pendarvis and Gertrude (Thompson) Tagholm. She attended school in Wheaton. On August 11, 1946 in Wheaton, Trudy was united in marriage to Richard Allen Wilson. Mr. Wilson died Tuesday, August 2, 1994 in Tucson, AZ.

Trudy worked as the Administrative Assistant for her husband in her father-in-law O.T. Wilson and husband's insurance agency, the Henry County Mutual Insurance Agency in Mt. Pleasant and then at the Wilson Insurance Agency of Mt. Pleasant. They remained there until 1977 when they moved to Tucson, AZ, due to Richard's health.

While residing in Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Wilson was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, cooking and sewing.

Those thankful for sharing in Trudy's life include her 4 children – Brian Wilson, Marc Wilson, Catherine Williams and Connie Douglas and several grand and great grandchildren.

Her parents, husband, 2 sisters – Eleanor and Gwen and a brother Dave precede Trudy in death.
