Tuba player to perform
The What Cheer Wind Band will perform in concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 19, at the What Cheer Opera House in What Cheer. Gary McCurdy of Washington will play a tuba solo, "Blues for Bill," with the group. The solo was written by McCurdy in honor of Bill Bell, a consummate tuba artist who played in the John Philip Sousa band, and several major orchestras.
