Tuesday Coffee Club

Tuesday Coffee Club met at the Senior Center on Sept. 16, with 12 members plus the hostess, Annagrace Goeke. President Vivian Griffith read two poems that Annagrace?s husband, Leonard, had written and published in his book of poems. The hostess was surprised to hear them but pleased that it went along with her being the hostess. She served refreshing treats to the group along with coffee.

Annagrace led a interesting reading of past presidents' wives and roll call was answered by ?your favorite presidents wife." The majority of the members agreed that President Kennedy?s wife, Jackie, was always interesting, stylish and newsworthy.

Two of our members have recently moved and told the group about their new homes and that they are enjoying fewer home task than previously required. One member was missing due to health reasons and Charlotte Magdefrau had made a card to be signed and forwarded to her.

Sharon Niffenegger presented a reading on clotheslines (almost a thing of the past).

The next meeting will be held at Oct. 7, at HyVee for a 9:30 a.m. breakfast, with Maxine Klopfenstein as hostess. The club will be meeting on the first and third Tuesdays during the months of October, November, December 2014, and March, April and May of 2015 with the hostess choice of time and place.
