Tuesday Coffee Club

Ten members and one guest, Judy V., met at the Pizza Ranch for lunch on Tuesday, Dec. 16. Mary Jane Shafer, the hostess, greeted each of us at the door and tables were ready for us.

No meetings are scheduled for January or February 2015. Weather permitting we may call a meeting for coffee and visiting. If we do this each member will get a phone call. We are all hoping for a mild winter with much sunshine.

Christmas plans and various Christmas wishes were present at our table. A few of the wishes were good health, nice weather, families gathering to share, and one of our friends had purchased her own Christmas present early. Dorothy Weber showed her annual present ?To Myself?and how lovely it is! We would name it as a necklace but Sharon Niffenegger told of her great-granddaughter, Etta Jo explaining that she ?did not have a necklace on when I commented how pretty it was and that I liked it. This is what this grandma learned from a 3-year-old (one of many things she has taught me): ?This is a AMULET, not a necklace? a magical Amulet, by the way. Bet you young mothers already knew that but not me.

?Doing a little research on my computer I find that Sofia the First wears a Amulet around her neck as it helps to be a better princess, having a commoner?s background until her mom marries the king and suddenly she is royalty, ?Sofia the First.? She has three fairies in charge of the Royal Training Academy, and Sofia suddenly learns that looking like a princess isn?t all that hard, but behaving like one must come from the heart.?

Anyone knowing Dorothy already knows she is well deserving of her beautiful necklace or ?Amulet? whichever the case may be, and she is a princess with a big heart in her own special way.
