Tuneful Tuesday run/walk events continue

The Tuneful Tuesday group plans to continue its run/walk events in August.

The group has been meeting on Tuesday evenings on the Fairfield square to run or walk to and from Chautauqua Park before the Fairfield Municipal Band concerts.

According to organizer Pete Mannisi, the last four Tuesdays have seen 11 participants: Luke Hillis, four runs; Peter Mannisi, four runs; Steve Pedrick, three runs; Jim Mitchell, three runs; Jackie Lopez, two runs; Pia Fritsch, two runs; Donna Nelson, two runs; Shane Orne, two runs;Bob Hunnerdosse, one run; Tania Kalamaro, one run; Tom Kelly, one run; and Schuyler Love, one run.

The band concerts ended for the season this week, but the Tuneful Tuesdays will continue on every Tuesday during August.

Participants will meet at the northeast corner of the square at 7 p.m. Stretching and warm up will be from 7-7:15 p.m., and the run will start at 7:15 p.m.

Mannisi will being ice water and cups. Jackie Lopez has offered to bring watermelon to share Tuesday.

All Fairfield residents are welcome to participate.

Mannisi said plans are for Tuneful Tuesdays to be held next year from the day after Memorial Day in May through the day after Labor Day in September.
