Tuneful Tuesdays begins this week

Tuneful Tuesday, a musical and exercise event for all Fairfield and Jefferson County residents, will be held the next five Tuesdays in conjunction with Fairfield Municipal Band concerts.

Organizer Pete Mannisi, a longtime runner and coach, explained Tuneful Tuesday will be a run/walk from the Fairfield square along Broadway Avenue to Chautauqua Park, a loop through the park and back to the square ? about a 2.5 mile route.

?This will be for all ages and ability levels,? said Mannisi. ?Better and faster runners can do two laps [for a 5-mile route]. Others can go at their own pace. After we return to the square, we will have a social gathering, share food and then listen to the band concert that begins at 8 p.m.?

Participants should meet at 7 p.m. each Tuesday beginning this week in the northeast corner of the Fairfield square.
