Two area blood drives scheduled

Southeast Iowa Blood Center announces two upcoming area blood drives.

A Richland community blood drive is scheduled for 2-6:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at Mother Cabrini Parish Center in Richland.

Donors eligible for the Richland drive last gave blood before June 27.

Hope Lutheran Church will sponsor a blood drive from 3:30-7:30 p.m. Aug. 24 at the church?s fellowship hall at 1465 Walnut Ave., Germanville.

Eligible donors last gave blood before June 29.

Walk-in donors are welcome for both drives.

Donors must be at least 16 years old, in good health and weigh at least 110 pounds. Photo identification or blood donor card is required to donate; 16-year-old donors must present a signed parental consent form, available from blood center offices. Controlled high blood pressure and diabetics are acceptable.

In addition, the Southeast Iowa Blood Center has announced its mobile drew 23 units of blood Aug. 2 at First United Methodist Church.
