United Church of Crawfordsville collecting personal dignity kits

The United Church of Crawfordsville is once again collecting items for school kits and personal dignity kits to be sent to Midwest Missions.

It is a bit early to talk about this, but school supplies are out in stores now and already on sale. There is a change in personal dignity kits this year. Lotion has been added. It is mentioned as their #1 requested kit.

Please read the list carefully as to size and what is requested.

Collection will start this month. If you prefer to give cash for supplies to be purchased, please let Pat Miller know. Below are items needed for each kit.

PERSONAL DIGNITY KIT

1 Hand Towel-NO kitchen towels\

1 WASHCLOTH- NO dish cloths

1 TOOTHBRUSH- (NO multipacks)

1 BAR SOAP- 3-4 oz.

1 SHAMPOO- 12-19 oz.

1 DEODORANT- 2-3 oz. (stick, roll-on or pump)

1 LOTION- 8-10 z.

1 -1 GALLON RESEALABLE BAG

STUDENT KIT

3 NOTEBOOK- 1 subject spiral 8"x 10 1/2"

1 RULER- 12' long with metric

6 Pencils- unsharpened

1 Pencil sharpener

1 Pen eraser- 2' or larger

1 Box of 12 colored pencils

1 Box of 24 crayons

1 Pair of student scissors

FOOD PANTRY

A reminder that the WACO Food Pantry at the United Church of Crawfordsville is open the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month. From 2-3:30 p.m. it is open to those 60 and over and those needing assistance, and from 3:30-5:30 p.m. for all others. The next dates are Thursday, August 1 and August 15.

Also, in other church related news: Men's Prayer Group meets every Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. All men are welcome!

The Youth meet at Bethel Church every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m., as well.
