United Church Women hold Christmas luncheon

Ten ladies of the United Church Women enjoyed lunch at the El Mariachi Restaurant in Winfield on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
Hostess was Rachel Koehler and Cathy Williams gave a Christmas devotion.
Attending were: Ruth Erwin, Donna Fletcher, Rachel Koehler, Debbie Lowe, Pat Miller, Margaret Patterson, Marlene Pelster, Billie Jo Rose, Joyce Roth and Cathy Williams.
Following the luncheon, everyone went to Margaret's home to view her display of Nativity scenes and all her beautiful Christmas decorations.,
LIONS CLUB CHRISTMAS DINNER
The Crawfordsville Lions Club celebrated Christmas with dinner out at Miller Homestead Cooking near Kalona on Tuesday evening, December 10, 2024.
Those enjoying the delicious meal and fellowship were Scott and Jeanne Davis, Darrell and Mary Egli, Randy Finke, Joel and Luetta Greene, Jennie Greene, Larry and Nancy Love, Mike and Shirley Massey, Gene and Pat Miller,Billie Jo Rose and guests, Joe and Alice Hochstetler.
CRAWFORDSVILLE LIONS CHRISTMAS DRAWING
Despite the icy conditions the annual Christmas Drawing sponsored by the Crawfordsville Lions Club went on as usual on Saturday, December 14. Persons came from far and wide to receive gifts of meat products, homemade items of furniture, money and much, all donated from area merchants and individuals. Around 195 gifts were given out.
Grand finale of the event was the giving out of a $100 Grand Prize and was won by Mark Peck.
Preceding the drawing the Crooked Creek 4-H Club held a successful Bake Sale and the little ones and some not so little enjoyed a visit with Santa.
The Lions Club would like to thank all the donors and everyone who contributed to this event.
SACHA CLUB
The Sacha Club met December 16, 2024 with 12 members at the home of Jolene Colthurst. President Brenda Bean called the meeting to order. Linda McNeil read the minutes of the previous meeting and Karen Megchelsen gave the treasurer's report.
Old Business: Report of committees from the craft show and everyone was grateful for a successful show.
New Business: Members voted to give a donation to the Sleep in Heavenly Peace organization which provides beds for children in need in the area. Members also voted on the 2025 ornament theme. Fun ideas were discussed and a "wooden" ornament will be the new year adventure.
The Blood Drive was discussed which will be held February 3, 2025 at the Ainsworth Community Church. Committees were formed and Sign Ups were completed.
Roll call was then shared by everyone unwrapping a skate ornament.
Everyone enjoyed seeing all the different ones, ice, hockey and roller skates.
The Club Collect was read by all.
Jolene served soup and holiday themed refreshments.
