United Church Women meet
CRAWFORDSVILLE NEWS

Mike and Shirley Massey attended the marriage of their daughter, Michelle (Massey) Hoffman to Jerry Campbell, both of Cedar Rapids on Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Arches National Park in Noab, Utah.
Others attending were Michelle's daughter, Ashley Hoffman and her grandmother, Ramona Von Sprecken of Maquoketa, as well as her sister and husband, Rebecca and Brad Groothuis of Cedar Rapids and many friends of the couple.
The bride and groom will make their home in Cedar Rapids.
United Church Women
The United Church Women met Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the United Church Fellowship Hall with six members and Pastor Jason, his wife, Christina and children, Izzy, Jeremy and Jessup in attendance.
Izzy, Jeremy and Jessup shared some of their favorite Crooked Creek and Lake Darling camp experiences. They enjoyed canoeing, camp fires and making new friends. The UCW had assisted in giving camp scholarships to the camp attendees.
The meditation was given by Margaret Patterson: "Count Your Blessings."
President Debbie Lowe called the meeting to order and the Opening Creed was read in unison.
The minutes of the September 14, 2021 meeting were approved as read.
The treasurer's report was given by Treasurer Pat Miller and was filed for audit.
The Blessing Boxes were collected and a motion was made, seconded and carried to send the proceeds to "Heal Our Patriots," Tunnel of Towers Foundation.
Correspondence: A thank you was received from the Lions Club for serving the meal for their organizations Installation Banquet in September.
Local Activities: Donna gave an update on the ovens.
Dorcas: The group continues to meet and make quilts. Six quilts have been delivered to Sunrise Terrace and baby quilts have been taken to two local families, as well as eight quilts were taken to Aspire Care Center. A new ironing board has been purchased .
Study & Devotions/Mission Outreach: The Regular Offering and Least Coin Offering were taken and the Prayer of the Least Coin was read together.
Old Business: Cathy Williams volunteered to serve on the December work committee.
Following group discussion it was decided to increase the cost of meals served to groups requesting to be served.
New Business: A motion was made and passed to pay for the stuffing for the Community Thanksgiving meal. The treasury was assessed and the previously designated amounts will be disbursed to the designated organizations and recipients. The present phone list will be reviewed and updated as needed.Those in the military will be remembered with cards.
Upcoming Events/News Items: Next Regular Meeting will be Tuesday, Dec. 18. Luncheon at 11:30 a.m., with the place to be determined. Hostesses: Deb Lowe and Pauline Richardson. Meditation: Pat Miller.
December Work Committee: Rachel Koehler and Cathy Williams.
Following a motion to adjourn, the Closing Creed was read in unison. Deb thanked Clarissa for hostessing and closed with Timothy 2:12.
