United Church Women meet
CRAWFORDSVILLE NEWS

The United Church Women of the United Church of Crawfordsville met Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021 for lunch at J.P.'s in Washington. Ten ladies were in attendance.
The meeting opened with meditations by Pat Miller, "Pattern of Love" and "What the "Star Tells Us."
Following lunch President Debbie Lowe called the meeting to order and a business meeting was held.
The minutes of the November 10, 2021 meeting were approved as read by Secretary Billie Jo Rose.
The treasurer's report was given by Pat Miller and will be filed for audit.
Correspondence: Thank you's were read from various organizations the group supports in the end of year giving and also from a member that had been hospitalized.
Committee Reports:
Local Activities: It was reported our ovens are now working. Coffee had been served following a recent funeral burial.
Dorcas: Nine members had attended sewing on Monday, Dec. 13 and quilts had been delivered to hospice, a nursing home, WACO Elementary School, two baby quilts and one to someone ill. One was also donated to the Lions Christmas drawing.
Cards, Flowers and Gifts: The usual mix of get well, sympathy and also two to those in service.
Study and Devotions/Mission Outreach: The Regular Offering and Least Coin Offering were taken and the prayer of Least Coin was read together. Also, those who hadn't contributed their Blessing Boxes were taken. The 2022 Program Books were distributed.

Next Meeting;
Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022 at 2 p.m.; Meditation: Clarissa Malmberg; Hostess: Pauline Richardson. There will be a Call to Prayer and Self Denial Offering.
Dorcas: Dec. 22 and January 10.

December: Cathy Williams and Tammy Lowe.

Following a motion to adjourn, the Closing Creed was read in unison. Deb thanked Pauline for being hostess and making all the arrangements. She closed with scripture: Romans 15:13.
The annual Crawfordsville Lions Christmas drawing was held Saturday, Dec. 18 with a large crowd attending. Around 180 gifts were handed out. Melissa Wagler, a new employee at the Peoples Savings Bank was the lucky winner of the Grand Prize. The Lions Club thanks everyone that donated toward the drawing.
The Crawfordsville Fire Department will be holding a Soup Supper on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022 at the Crawfordsville Fire Station from 4-7 p.m. It will feature Chili, Cheesy Potato and Beef Enchilada for a Free Will Offering.
