United Church Women meet

The United Church Women of the United Church of Crawfordsville met Tuesday evening, July 12 in the church Fellowship Hall with six ladies and Pastor Jason present.

The meeting opened with Debbie Lowe giving the devotion "Tea Time with God", "Coping Skills" and cited Psalm 31:15.

The Opening Creed was read in unison.

Secretary Billie Jo Rose read the minutes of the May 10, 2022 meeting and they were approved as read. The treasurer's report was given by Pat Miller and will be filed for audit.

Correspondence:

A thank you note from the family of Frieda Finke.

Local Activities:

The funeral luncheon had been served for the Finke family on July 6.

It was reported the ovens seem to be working okay

It was suggested trading locations of two refrigerators. One refrigerator had been leaking, but report it has been checked and seems to be okay

Dorcas:

The group keeps making quilts. Two had been delivered, one to someone who'd been hospitalized and another to a new baby.

Study & Devotions/Mission Outreach:

The Regular Offering and the Least Coin Offering were taken and the Prayer of the Least Coin was read together

Fall Rummage Sale: August 31, September 1, 2, 3.

Harvest Supper discussed, with more to be followed up on at September meeting.

Following a motion to adjourn the Closing Creed was read in unison. Deb thanked Clarissa for hostessing. Debbie's closing thoughts were: Nothing beats love at first sight except love with insight, Proverbs: 4:7.

Birthday Celebrations!

Audrey Smith, daughter of Sonya Love-Smith and Clyde Smith celebrated her 15th birthday with a party on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Mia Pueblo Rio in Mt. Pleasant. Other than the honored guest those attending were Sonya Love-Smith, Kenny Kruse, John Kruse, Carolyn Love, Bruce Davis, Larry and Nancy Love, Jesse, Betsy and Preston Lasek, Wesley, Lawson and Isaac Love, Jamie, Kamlyn and Kylee Brame, Tyler, Maggie, Kinsley and Noah Robertson and Jennifer, Eli and Ian Arbogast.

Lawson Love, son of Wesley Love and Kaitlyn Love was guest of honor at a party for his 9th birthday held at the Tavern Blue in Coralville on Sunday, July 17. Attending were Wesley, Lawson and Isaac Love, Jamie, Kamlyn and Kylee Brame, Carolyn Love and Bruce Davis, Larry Love, Sonya Love-Smith, Audrey Smith and Kenny Kruse, Jesse, Betsy and Preston Lasek, Tyler, Maggie, Kinsley and Noah Robertson and Jeff and Sharon Ryder.

Everyone enjoyed playing Putt, Putt Golf, Giant Connect the Dots and Foosball.
