United Church Women meet in Crawfordsville

The United Church Women met Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at the United Church of Crawfordsville with ten ladies present.
The Lenten meditation was given by Debbie Lowe. President Debbie Lowe called the meeting to order and the Opening Creed was read in unison.
Minutes of the November 14, 2023 meeting were approved as read by Secretary Billie Jo Rose. A report of the group's Christmas luncheon was also shared.
Treasurer Pat Miller gave the treasurer's report and it will be filed for audit.
Correspondence:
Various organizations sending thank you notes were read.

Local Activities:
Kitchen supplies had been purchased.
Dorcas:
It was reported a sewing machine had been purchased for the group's use. Lap quilts had been made.
Cards, Flowers and Gifts:
Several Sympathy, Get-well cards, etc. had been sent, as well as cards signed at the meeting for two members that couldn't be with us. Easter lilies were also being purchased.
Old Business: None.
New Business:
Spring Rummage Sale: It will be held Thursday and Friday, April 25 and 26 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, April 27 from 8 a.m. to noon. Set-up will be Tuesday, April 23.

Following a motion to adjourn, Debbie thanked Pat for being hostess. The Closing Creed was read together.
Deb's closing thoughts were: "Grow through what you go through."
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
The Crawfordsville Fire Department will host a Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 6-9 a.m. at the Crawfordsville Fire Station, 105 North Main St. They will be serving Pancakes, Sausage Patties, Scrambled Eggs, Hash Browns , coffee and juice, all for a free-will offering. Dine in or carry out.
Following the breakfast, The Crawfordsville Community Club will sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt at 9:30 a.m. at the Crawfordsville Ball Field behind the WACO Elementary School.
