United Church Women meet in Crawfordsville

The United Church Women met Tuesday, January 14, 2025 in the Fellowship Hall at the United Church of Crawfordsville with eight ladies present.
Debbie Lowe gave the meditation, citing excerpts about the New Year from the book, "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young.
President Debbie Lowe called the meeting to order and the Opening Creed was read together.
The minutes of the November 12 meeting, as well as those of the Christmas luncheon were read by Secretary Billie Jo Rose and approved as read.
Treasurer Pat Miller gave her report and it will be filed for audit. The Regular offering was taken.
Correspondence: Thank you notes were read from some of the Missions the group had supported.
Committee Reports:
Dorcas: It was reported that a baby quilt had been given to the driver of HACAP for his new baby.
Cards, Flowers and Gifts: It was reported Christmas Cards had been sent to those in service and to other members of our community.
Mission Outreach: Margaret gave an update from the U.P. Home Benevolent Fund and reported they have made many updates at the Home.
Old Business: None
New Business: The Spring Rummage Sale was mentioned and it will be held the last weekend in April: April, 24, 25 and 26.

Next meeting: March 11, 2025: Meditation and Hostess: Donna;
Dorcas: January 27, February 10 and 24 and March 10.
Work Committees: January: Cathy; February: Debbie and March: Marlene.
Following a motion to adjourn, Deb thanked Marlene for hostessing.
The Closing Creed was read in unison.
Deb closed with the following thought: "Stack every bit of criticism between two layers of praise." Also, Correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction." 2 Timothy 4:2.
LIONS PANCAKE SUPPER
Mark your calendars for the Crawfordsville Lions Pancake Supper on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 4-7 at the Crawford Township Fire Station. Pancakes, Sausage, Eggs and Drinks will be served for a Free-will offering. Dine-in or Carry-out.
