United Methodist Women’s Club meets for holidays

The Washington United Methodist women met on Dec. 14, at the church with 15 members present for a dessert. Hostesses were Sharon Wagner and Evie Heald. Members were attired in red and green for the Holidays. President Marilyn Whitenack opened the meeting by telling of Symbolism of the Candy Cane. Marilyn gave the Spiritual Growth report which had been prepared by Ilene Schnicker. She used Scripture from John 1:5.
Members will host a Brunch after church on Dec. 16. Officers will be installed at the Jan. 6 service. Sally Beezley gave a report on the Initiatives of the United Methodist Women. She discussed the reading programs available. She also listed 10 reasons for giving at year end.
Marilyn announced a change for 2019 meetings with 11:30 for Executive meeting and lunch at Noon. Members were asked to sign up for assisting for next year. The Pledge Service was given by Shirley Pfeifer using scripture from Genesis 28. Members shared information about special Christmas ornaments they had brought to share. There will not be a January meeting.
