George and Meda Fulton celebrated 68 years of marriage on July 13. They met at a church youth group. Meda attended a church in Ainsworth and George attended church in Crawfordsville. Knowing that Meda went to the youth group at the Ainsworth church, George asked his friend, who also attended the Ainsworth youth group, to take him along so that he could meet Meda. George says that his plan worked and they have enjoyed 68 wonderful years together.

A large group of corn pickers volunteered their service at 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning to pick what turned out to be short sweet corn crop. It did not take long for them to work their way through the patch. Head gardener Carl Chalupa received help from fellow residents Dick Anderson, Bonnie Bender, Larry Bartlett, Martha Chalupa, Randy and Jane Fehr, Rodney Letts, Dick Magdefrau, Mike and Vickie McGuire, Jana Nieman, Jim Reed and Dorothy Widmer.
Long awaited personal visits between health center residents and their families began last week ending months of separation and emotionally difficult absences. Under guidelines set forth by the Iowa Department of Public Health, residents are now able to meet with family members outdoors by appointment and a pre-screening process. Social distancing still is a must and therefore hugs are outlawed. Families are so grateful for the opportunity to see their loved ones in person that the schedule has been full despite the hot and rainy weather.
