Cottage residents trotted through the first snowdrifts of the season to share in their potluck meal on Monday evening. Chili was on the menu and a welcomed comfort food for the cold and windy weather. Hosts for the dinner were Merrill and Ann Mason, John and Gerry Sproule, and Lois Swank. Ted Stewart and Gwen Ying led the group in singing a couple of songs with a thankful spirit. They also sang Happy Birthday to those celebrating a November birthday and wished a happy anniversary to Darwin and Dorothy Widmer celebrating 63 years of marriage, Bob and Donna Koehler married for 65 years, and Tom and Charlane Tanner also recognized for 65 years of marriage.
Pat Jenkins kicked off the Alzheimer?s fundraiser for the year when she presented information to the Crawfordsville Lions Club on Monday evening. Pat as well as a number of other residents actively engage in raising awareness of Alzheimer?s through many activities, speaking engagements and community walk - runs.
The Fulton Hall fireplace was lit for the first time on Wednesday morning. Firewood is in place and preparations made for the winter months ahead of us. Jim Bennett is hustling and bustling to get the model train display set up by Thanksgiving Day. There are a lot of pieces!
Families are arriving for Thanksgiving dinner and to spend time with loved ones. There is much to be thankful for.
