United Presbyterian Women
Three circles of United Presbyterian Women met during December. Circle III met at the church on Dec. 9 at 9:30 a.m. Seven members attended. Leader Jane Fehr opened the meeting with prayer. Thelma Wagner led Lesson Four with the Biblical focus from Second Corinthians 4:7 to 5:10.
Marilyn Johnston presented devotions. She will be the group leader for the next three months. She will try to change the meeting place ...

Three circles of United Presbyterian Women met during December. Circle III met at the church on Dec. 9 at 9:30 a.m. Seven members attended. Leader Jane Fehr opened the meeting with prayer. Thelma Wagner led Lesson Four with the Biblical focus from Second Corinthians 4:7 to 5:10.
Marilyn Johnston presented devotions. She will be the group leader for the next three months. She will try to change the meeting place to the UP Home for January through March.
Circle III was responsible for birthday supplies and cakes for the December birthday party at the Brownlee Health Center.
Circle IV met at the UP Home Campbell Room Dec. 10 with twelve members and one guest. Everyone furnished Christmas treats to share. The meeting began with memories of past Christmases.
Davida Nicholson read the latest letter from Tom Johnson. He told of playing Father Christmas at the school his daughters attend. He asked for prayers for his father who is receiving treatment for lymphoma. He will be able to visit his Iowa family after Christmas.
Esther Bordwell gave readings of the Christmas story and Christmas Day. She offered prayers for those who are suffering and also prayers for the Barber City church of the Presbytery of East Oregon and their Open Door ministry.
In the spirit of Christmas each one contributed with a story, poem, or music. Jane Cuddeback showed a nativity scene she had recently acquired. She and Janice Twinam talked of a story surrounding the figure of the baby Jesus.
The meeting adjourned with the fixing of plates of Christmas goodies to be shared with friends and shut-ins.
Pat Johnson was hostess at the church to Circle V on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. on Dec. 16. Six members attended.
Leader Jean Wells opened the meeting by reading Mark 10:45 and ?Why was Jesus born?? Roll call was ?Christmas memories and plans.
Circle V is responsible for the Hymn/Sing at Brownlee at the UP Home. It will be held Jan. 6 at 2:30 p.m.
Pat presented the Least Coin concerning the Republic of Korea (South Korea) and the threat of communism and protests. She finished with prayer.
The group decided to give the December mission project dollars to the Wayland Shoes mission. Pat explained the mission as part of devotions.
Vivian Griffith presented a special Christmas program. She read the Christmas story from Luke:2 while Christmas music played in the background. She played a recording of Butch Zwicki singing and read ?A True Christian Christmas.?
The group sang a number of Christmas hymns together. The hostess served delicious refreshments while members enjoyed visiting together.
