Residents of the United Presbyterian Home in Washington enjoy being outside, when the weather is cooperating, and spending time with family and friends. This week, with the movie and popcorn program, the viewing of “A Family Affair” took place. The movie brought back lots of memories for us all.
Cinco de Mayo was May 5, the residents enjoyed chips, salsa, and listening to music to go with the theme. They wore sombreros and reminisced with others. It was a great afternoon.
Baking took place and garlic biscuits were made. The ladies really got into the baking, making sure that all the biscuits were the same size. The prepping, preparing and sampling was enjoyed by all.
The Mother’s Day Tea held on Monday was well attended with almost 50 ladies gathering for a sweet treat and fashion show. Jaz It Up Boutique owned by Aimee Enfield and Creations by Char at the Village with Charlotte Anderson dressed several board members and employees from the UP Home. The latest spring fashions and color palettes were highlighted in the show including shoes, handbags and jewelry. All in attendance received 20 percent off one item to be used at Jaz It Up and The Village before May 17.
Ladies were also given a journal and UP Home pen while being challenged to write a note of encouragement to another woman. Door prizes were given to several ladies with the grand prizes going to Charlane Tanner and Jean Frazer.
