Members of Kerr Hall’s second floor on the campus of the United Presbyterian Home in Washington gathered for a pie party on Monday, Nov. 22. Three bakers, Joan Rich with an Apple Pie, Carol Thornton with a Pumpkin Pie and Linda Boston with a Crustless Coconut Cream Pie, made up the Pie Baking Group. With the lounge decorated for the season, great tasting pie and fresh perked coffee the afternoon was quite enjoyable by all who attended.
Kerr Hall also resumed their Monthly Luncheons in the Moore Dining Room on Tuesday, Dec. 14. Eighteen residents were in attendance for the meal. It was nice to be able to gather together once again.
Residents have been enjoying the 12 Days of Christmas giveaways that our Wellness Department has organized. Gifts came from Dodici Shop, Kelsie Wheeler, Brandy Kellenberger, Mercantile, Country Market, Wolf Floral, UP Home Beauty Shop, Chamber Bucks, Boyd’s, Moore Dining Room, Fareway and Herb Mama. Agnes Hughes was our first winner of the 12 days of Christmas with a beautiful pair of mittens from the Dodici Shop. Thank you all for spreading the Christmas Cheer.
We want to congratulate our UP Home Residents who won the door decoration competition. Best Christmas Spirt — Lidvil Hart; Most Creative — Janet Farrier; and People’s Choice Award — Karen Wilson. There were lots of creative doors and decorations completed and the UP Home Campus is looking very festive. A big thank you to all who have decorated!
We are enjoying the local schools sharing their singing talents with us all at the UP Home including the Sunrise Singers and the Washington Middle School Advanced Choir.
We are looking forward to our Christmas Program brought together by our own Andrew Zuehlke. Residents have volunteered their talent and time to make this happen. This includes Jane and Randy Fehr, Carol Ray, Rodney Letts, Bob Crane, Linda Boston, Jean Cousins, Ed Lins, Kathy Knutson, Betty Beenblossom, Joyce Letts, Sara Robison, Pat Goff, Mary Oviatt, Carla Carter, Jana Nieman, Connie Bauer and Mary Atwood.
Special music will be provided by Gwen Ying and Martha Chalupa, Bob Crane and Connie Bauer. We are blessed to have such a talented group!
We would like to extend our sympathies to the family of Vernetta Crawford.
Have a great week everyone!
